31 - How to Train Your Dragon: Flight Over Berk
E-Ticket
Must be 44 in.
Join Hiccup and the Dragon Riders on a flight over Berk in this 3-D motion simulator ride, similar to Avatar Flight of Passage.
QUEUE:
Guests enter into the stables near the village, where the attraction's entrance is found. From there, they go through the stables and see notes from Hiccup, which tells guests about the types of dragons they will see on the ride. Along the way, they will also see some smaller dragons, such as Terrible Terrors, hiding on higher places.
PRE-SHOW:
Soon enough, guests will enter into a room with a balcony. Hiccup appears on the balcony and welcomes the guests, saying how they will be embarking on a flight over Berk. They will learn how to ride dragons in the process, being paired with small dragons called "Mightwings," who are inside wooden dragon models. Although they are small, the Mightwings can lift heavy objects, and so they can fly with the guests on them. He also says that they will be wearing safety goggles, which Gobber made for them. Then, Astrid comes in and tells him that there is something he has to know. She and Hiccup leave to discuss this.
Once the show is done, guests will pick up a pair of 3-D glasses and proceed into one of many theaters. There, they will place their belongings in the back before getting on the armored Mightwings. They then grab the handles and get ready.
RIDE EXPERIENCE:
When the door raises, the Mightwings take off and fly around the spires. They then turn and head towards the island, where they pass by a few other dragons. They are then caught in a game of Dragon Racing between Snotlout, Fishlegs, Ruffnut, and Tuffnut. The guests take part in the game and score a point for Astrid, even though Snotlout is not happy about this.
Suddenly, Hiccup and Astrid appear on Stormfly and inform them that Toothless is in trouble. To rescue him, the Dragon Riders (and the guests) follow them into the forest. There, they find Toothless in a battle with a Skrill. Ruffnut and Tuffnut distract the dragon while Hiccup gets on Toothless and flies away. During their escape, they head out to see, where they encounter a Skuldron. Luckily, they take refuge in a cave. Unfortunately, several Fireworms appear, forcing them to flee. Just when the guests think they are safe, they are caught in the song of a Death Song. Luckily, Toothless fights it while the dragons fly away.
In the clouds, things get more peaceful. Hiccup apologizes for the trouble and then instructs them to go back to the village. The dragons then fly through Berk, going through the village and then landing on a platform. Hiccup then thanks the guests for coming and tells them to go back to the stables, which they do.
POST-RIDE:
Guests exit their theater, gather their belongings, and dispose of their 3-D glasses. They then follow a passage into the village, where they can shop at Dragon Traders.
