The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Diagon Alley: Attractions
37 - Hogwarts Express
B-Ticket
Any Height
Guests board the Hogwarts Express in King's Cross Station, which will take them to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
QUEUE:
Guests find King's Cross Station at the edge of the area, visible from the Chinese area of Mystical Realms. Here, guests go into the station. They see departure times for trains, some luggage on the side, and even a snack stand (because food can be brought on the train.) Soon, they will come to Platform 9 3/4, where they go through the barrier (which looks fake while you're doing it, but real if you look through a window.)
On the platform, they will find the train itself. They will pass luggage belonging to Harry, Ron, and Hermione, and even see Hedwig in her cage, before going onto the train itself. They will find a compartment to sit in and wait for someone to close the door.
RIDE EXPERIENCE:
The ride begins by going out of London, passing by the Muggles. They may also see Hagrid fly by on his Motorbike. Then, they will pass through a tunnel, where Harry, Ron, and Hermione pass by, taking treats from the trolley.
The train then passed by Malfoy Manor. During this, a dementor boards the train, but Harry shoos it away with a patronus. The train then goes through Otterly St. Catchpole and passes by the Lovegood house. They go through another tunnel and see Hogwarts itself. They proceed through the Forbidden Forest, where they see Grawp and some unicorns. They then go to the Hogsmeade Station, where Hagrid greets them.
POST-RIDE:
After getting off the train, guests will proceed through the station and enter Hogsmeade, passing by the Beauxbatons carriage as they do.
38 - Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts
E-Ticket
Must be 42 in.
Embark on a perilous journey through the vaults of Gringotts in a multi-sensory thrill ride. This is inspired by the Gringotts heist sequence in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2.
QUEUE:
Guests walk into the foyer of Gringotts, passing underneath the iconic chandelier and passing the goblins, who are working at their desks. They then pass by Bogrod at the end, who announces that they will be opening an account at the bank. They proceed through the hallways, and even overhear Harry, Ron, and Hermione planning to steal a Horcrux (Helga Hufflepuff's Cup.)
PRE-SHOW:
Guests walk into the office of Bill Weasley, where a goblin introduces himself. He announces that Bill will be their tour guide, taking them through the vaults. Bill himself comes in and takes some keys to open some vaults.
After this, the guests go into an elevator and go seven thousand stories below the surface. There, they go through the caverns, seeing places like Vault 713 (Nicholas Flamel's vault), and Harry's vault. They eventually receive a pair of 3-D glasses before making their way to the load station, where they board their mine carts.
RIDE EXPERIENCE:
The carts go into the tunnels as Bill goes into a vault. However, the vault locks itself as a siren comes from overhead. Apparently, there's been a break-in at Gringotts. Bellatrix Lestrange then appears, accusing the guests of breaking into her vault. She then tilts the track and sends the carts downwards.
They go through a coaster section before coming near the Thief's Downfall waterfall, where they reunite with Bill. Then, Harry, Ron, Hermione, and Griphook appear on a nearby cart. Bill asks them what they are doing there, but before they can answer, security trolls show up and lift the cart the guests are on. One of them accidentally knocks another troll out, causing it to pull the cart down with them. They land in another level of the bank, going past a Ukrainian Ironbelly dragon. Bill fends it off as the guests escape.
Then, they pass by Griphook, who announces the break-in. They head into the Lestrange vault itself, where Nagini lunges at them and knocks down a shelf of armor. Bellatrix appears again with Voldemort, who demands to know why they are there. The villains move the carts into a room filled with magma, where Voldemort plans to torture the guests. Then, Harry and his friends appear on the dragon. Voldemort attacks with a fiendfyre of his face, but the dragon blows it aside.
After escaping from this, the carts go into a place where they see Bill again. As the dragon flies away behind him, he asks if they still want to open an account, saying "After all, it's the safest place on Earth."
POST-RIDE:
Guests return to the load station and get off the ride. They dispose of their 3-D glasses and then proceed into a gift shop called Goblin Vault.
39 - Battle of the Ministry
E-Ticket
Must be 40 in.
This ambitious new attraction is what I imagine the key attraction of Ministry of Magic in Universal Epic Universe will be like. While this may not be an accurate description, this is what I think the attraction could be. It is built on a similar scale as Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance and features cutting-edge technology.
QUEUE:
Located near Grimmauld Place and on the border with Hollywood is a large, abandoned storage building. Here, guests will go inside to discover a secret elevator, which will take them to the Ministry of Magic atrium. Guests go inside and descend.
In the atrium, guests move through the foyer, where all of the fireplaces are. They then proceed past the Fountain of Magical Brethren and the offices, as well as a giant banner bearing the face of Rufus Scrimgeour (the Minister of Magic who succeeded Cornelius Fudge.)
PRE-SHOW:
Soon, guests will enter the elevator room, where they will board one of many elevators. In the elevators is a mirror, which is really a screen. As the elevator moves, Percy Weasley appears on the screen, welcoming guests to the Ministry. He has agreed to take them on a tour of the place, but before they begin, the elevator unexpectedly changes directions. Dolores Umbridge then appears on the screen and says how there has been a break-in in her office. She accuses the guests of doing it and sends them to the Department of Mysteries.
After moving through the dark halls of the department, guests enter one of two courtrooms. Here, Umbridge appears on the balcony, saying how they will be tried for this. Lucius Malfoy also comes in, saying how there are other people in the Department of Mysteries, who are looking for a certain item. They leave to investigate this.
While they are out, a member of the Order of the Phoenix opens up a secret doorway. Guests exit through a tunnel and enter a Ministry vehicle. Here, guests board the vehicle, which fits up to eight people with two rows of four. They then strap themselves in and prepare to escape.
RIDE EXPERIENCE:
The vehicles start by moving through the Hall of Prophecy, where crystal balls sit on shelves. Guests pass by Harry, Ron, and Hermione, who talk about what's been going on.
Harry: "Sorry about that. We came here looking for something, and Umbridge had clues on where to find it in her office. We think it might be here."
Ron: "Perhaps they can find it for us."
Hermione: "No! They've gotten in enough trouble already! We don't want to..."
Suddenly, the walls begin to shake and the vehicles move. Hermione asks what happened as the vehicles come across Lucius Malfoy and some Death Eaters.
Lucius: "What are you doing here? Looking for a specific item? Well, you're not going to find it."
Lucius sends the vehicles backwards with his spells. This hurdles them into another courtroom, where Umbridge is. She plans to use the Cruciatus Curse on them to get answers, but then Harry shows up and stuns her. He orders the the guests to leave, which they do.
The vehicles continue through the Department of Mysteries, watching Death Eaters fight members of the Order of the Phoenix such as Nymphadora Tonks, Mad-Eye Moody, Kingsley Shacklebolt, and Remus Lupin. Using advanced technology and effects, it is supposed to look like they are fighting on both sides.
Then the vehicles proceed into the Room of Death, where they gravitate towards the Veil. Death Eaters bring them forward, but then Sirius Black appears to cause a distraction. As he starts dueling the Death Eaters, the vehicles exit the room and head into an elevator, which takes them up to another level.
From there, they go through the hallways of the Ministry, where they pass some working wizards and some house-elves cleaning the place. Suddenly, Umbridge announces the break-in and causes all the doors to lock. As they enter a room, several knights appear, pointing their axes at them. Umbridge commands them to give her the item. This is done on a screen effect.
Umbridge: "I know you have it. There is no escaping now. Give it to me now, or you will die a very painful death."
Suddenly, a mountain troll comes in and knocks the knights away. The vehicles escape through a hallway, seeing some knights crashed through the wall. Then, they enter some offices that have been set on fire. Lucius is in there, looking around in terror.
Lucius: "Who summoned a fiendfyre? These things are highly dangerous!"
Vehicles then move through the heated rooms and pass by a giant, fiery serpent. They also proceed to an office window, where the golden trio are.
Hermione: "We have to get these people out of here! Ron, why did you conjure up a fiendfyre?"
Ron: "I didn't think it would be that destructive!"
Harry: "Doesn't matter. You have to get out of here! Head to the carriage, now!"
The vehicles then move into a carriage, which is being pulled by Thestrals. Lupin and Tonks come on and order the guests to hold on, signaling a motion simulator part. They fly through the burning Ministry. When they get to the atrium, they escape through Floo Powder.
Then, when they exits the carriage, guests go through a storage for Weasley Wizard Wheezes, where several fireworks are seen. Once they reach safety, guests get off the vehicles and proceed out of the storage, returning to the streets of London.
